Code Awareness

Living in a historic district can be tricky to know what work on your home needs approval and is subject to approval by the city Landmark Commission. We’re here to help all Winnetka Heights neighbors with this process, whether it be a home renovation or seasonal gardening.

Submitting a Certificate of Appropriateness

The City of Dallas is making it even easier to do Permitting, Historic Preservation Applications, and other Planning & Development functions. DallasNow has launched.

❋ Office of Historic Preservation

The Office of Historic Preservation has all the information and resources for submitting a CA for the Landmark Review Process.

❋ 2026 Landmark Review Deadlines

Be sure to get your CA in before the deadline for each month. It’s about a 6-week timeline for the full review process, although some CAs may move quicker if eligible for Staff Review.
